Doukhobor Sofa Table

fter the Doukhobors arrived on the shores of eastern Canada in January 1899, their cabinetmakers began to build some of the most beautiful and richly carved furniture in early Canada. Their furniture was inspired by the higher style forms of Russian and French furniture, and featured deeply carved panels and large bold turnings.

In keeping with this tradition, our sofa table has been designed with the same elements. Five deeply carved, raised panels form the case for the bank of six dovetailed drawers. Boldly turned legs are brought together with finely beaded, solid pine construction.
